As a child my imagination was stimulated and given full reign.  I was encouraged to play creatively, to dress up, to act, build, draw and paint.  My Barbie dolls and wooden blocks became my imagineering tools, and I created my own “movie sets” and backdrops.  There were no limitations and I believe this allowed my creative spirit to thrive.

In this art work, I have been able to bring two of my idols together.  My good friend and fellow artist Brant Kingman is featured.  Brant is a local artist and creator who donned his exceptional garb for this artwork.  He is merged with my four legged companion Disco, my spirit animal.  Included imagery draws from childhood drawings and one of the stories I wrote when I was five years old.  There are references to films such as Labyrinth and Little Women as well as games such as “Where’s Waldo” and jigsaw puzzles that helped me forge my way into today’s art world.

I love telling stories through my art.  This is the story of my creative growth – from Play doh at 6 to Burning Man at 36, it never stops developing and being switched on.
