To be brave is to have the fortitude or daring to face and endure anything threatening.  When contemplating my central personality, I couldn’t help but decide on Mohammad Ali who has been a role model in both the ring and on the social stage.  Brave defined by Ali is standing up for what you believe in.  Fighting for his principles and pushing back against social injustice, Ali also epitomizes transformational change whether it be dealing with adversity, creed, color or stages of life itself.

As the central figure in my art work I’ve combined imagery embedded in his hair down to his boxing gloves.  He is alive with other brave individuals such as Martin Luther King, William Wallace, King Leonidas and Emelia Earhart.  Vietnam vets from the First Infantry Division join forces with police, fire fighters and soldiers.  I have also included both fictional characters such as the Cowardly Lion and non-fictional characters such as Rosie Parks, throughout the work.
